JMD's Classic Barbershop was established in 2022, and is located in Mesa, Arizona at the cross streets of Highley Rd. and E. Baseline Rd.
JMD's Classic Barbershop specializes in skin fades, tapers, regular men's haircuts, beard trims and shape, flat tops, and straight razor shaves. We are a by appointment only barber shop to help ensure customer satisfaction. Why wait hours to be seen, when you can plan your barber services around your availability. Please plan ahead as our calendar does fill quickly. You will receive a consultation prior to the haircut to make sure you get exactly what you want.
Located in a very busy, and competitive part of Mesa, we strive to provide the highest quality haircut, and customer service experience possible. The original forms, and styling of barbering is what our goal is here at JMD's Classic Barbershop
Our Story
James is an Arizona native, and avid fisherman, hiker, explorer, and camper. He has fished every body of water from Lake Pleasant, where he grew up fishing, to the east fork of the Black River that runs through Greer, and everything in between. If he has an opportunity, he is out at Canyon, or Saguaro Lake, fishing from his kayak. His true passion is hiking into remote wooded areas of Northern Arizona in the pines, targeting species of Northern Pike, rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and of course apache trout which are only native to Arizona. James is not just an outdoors man, he also enjoys gardening, growing flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables; building 4 x 4 nitro RC trucks; and gaming.
As a kid, James was a neighborhood friends, and family barber. He was cutting his father’s hair on a regular basis from age 14. He grew to love barbering, and despite first heading to Northern Arizona University, then transferring to Arizona State University he finally entered barber college. James has now been working as a professional barber for over 10 years. Skin fade, razor fade, taper fade, Mohawk, fo hawk, flat top, regular men's scissor cuts, business taper cuts, haircuts of any color or density, James is your Barber. His specialty is beards. In fact, last year, 2021, James’s customer won "Best groomed, natural beard in the western United states". As James found out, if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life, and that's exactly what he does daily. From senior to child, James will master any idea or haircut/style you may have in mind!
